High Chance of Cyclone Development in the Coral Sea and near Darwin 21 DEC 2011

We continue to look at the Coral Sea and Timor Sea today where two areas of convection continue to gain strength. Ship observations in the area of the Coral sea confirm a cyclone circulation around the area while high cloud tops confirm the heavy rainfall.

Also near Darwin another area bears watching and could possibly bring heavy rain showers to the Northern Territory.

A update on the Western Pacific and Eastern Asia will be posted this evening as well.

Also below is a update on the two possible cyclones around Australia by one of
our partner youtube channels Solar Watcher, his channel can be found on the side in the links page.

  1. Thanks so much for another comprehensive report. In 2 weeks my family and I embark on a roadtrip from tropical Townsville to Frosty Canberra (well in winter). Crossing our fingers we dont hit post cyclone/tropical storm flooding through the interior! I’ll be listening to all your updates!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
