08 JAN 2012 Western Pacific Video Update

Heavy Rain Showers are hitting the Philippines yet again today, between 90 & 110mm of rainfall have fallen in areas from Mindanao to Luzon in the past 24hrs and with more thunderstorms moving on shore those tallys are expected to increase. PAGASA has issued an Advisory on this area of rain showers stating “Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. ”

Meanwhile the Monsoonal belt of showers extends out towards Malaysia where more rain is expected to effect the area by mid-week.
