Cyclone Heidi is now a Category 2 Cyclone on the Australian Scale. This is the equivalent of a Tropical Storm in the Northern Hemisphere. The storm is currently producing sustained winds of ~50kts with gust up to 70kts in the eye wall and some of the outer rain bands. Flash flooding is a prime concern specifically to the East of Port Hedland and in the right front quadrant of the storm.
Still limited reports of any damage in the area but tomorrow as the sun comes up in the morning more reports should filter in across North West Australia.
