Here is another 3-day forecast for the Philippines valid January 15 to 17. Please note that forecasts here are NOT OFFICIAL.
While Luzon remains mostly dry, rain showers are overspreading much of Mindanao and Southern Visayas. So far rainfall amounts are light although as it continues, we expect to see increase in rain reports. The precipitation is being caused by the convergence situated around Mindanao. Showers will continue for the next 2 days, especially in eastern sections. Palawan and Zamboanga Peninsula is also seeing rains due to another batch of showers. Computer models continue to show rains for these parts until later tomorrow. By then, coverage of rain will decrease although chances for rain remain.
Next batch of precipitation for Luzon will come around Monday as a cold front is forecast to sweep by. Northern and easter sections could see light rain along with cool northeasterly winds. Isolated showers from the south could also could also work their way towards Southern Luzon by tomorrow. As the front moves south, we expect showers for Eastern and Southern Luzon (Bicol Region) to persist by Tuesday. Temperatures will range between mid 20’s and low 30’s. In areas with abundant cloud cover and precipitation, temperatures may not get out of the 20s.

I’ll have another update by January 17.
