First of all sorry for being late in posting the weather update for the 15th of January 2012 and it is currently crossing onto the 16th therefore we will have them both.
Today’s video update looking onto the heavy rain across Central and Southern Thailand while the Peninsula Malaysia and Borneo Island recover from heavy rainfall and flooding in the region caused by Invest 91W which now has completely dissipate in the South China Sea. A few days of fair weather should be seen in the Malay Peninsula however in Central and Southern Thailand, heavy rain warning issued by the Thailand Meteorological Department for the area in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla during 1-2 days. The easterly wave remains across the Gulf and southern Thailand. Fairly widespread rain is likely from Chumphon southward with isolated heavy to very heavy rain.
Meanwhile over the Philippine, some heavy rainfall over 150mm reported in the Southern PI as the low pressure area crossing the states and expect cloudy and some isolated thunderstorm in the coming few days. Over the Northern Luzon, the easterly winds associated with the North East Monsoon has weakened and Pagasa issued their last gale force wind warning today. Still, cloudy and windy days over the area with some isolated rain.
And finally in Singapore and Brunei, in 3 days to come this two states shall see some showers and cloudy sky over much area as the monsoonal trough is still linger around the region. As the GFS forecasted, this coming week will be a quite one and rough weather is expected to begin again end of this week extended until early next week.
