Today we are looking at some rain showers moving into Eastern Mindanao, rest of the country looks mainly dry at the moment. The forecast for the next 3 days shows some rain developing over the southern half of the country, particularly across Mindanao and Eastern Visayas. Much of Luzon will have drier weather although temperatures are forecast to rebound as high pressure weakens and cold air retreats north. There could still be some light showers, though, and isolated thunderstorms especially in the afternoon.
Right now, however, rains are moving into Mindanao. There could be some light to moderate rains developing over the eastern sections over the next 12 hours and could drop 50 or more millimeters of rain, setting the possibility for landslides. Showers could make their way into Visayas by tomorrow so have put 50% for Cebu. Showers could linger for the next 2 days. We are also watching a batch of showers moving across Western Micronesia. Computer models are in good agreement as to the movement of these showers, which are forecast to start affecting Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas beginning Tuesday afternoon.
