Philippines 3-Day Forecast | February 19, 2012

Before I start, let me give a quick update regarding Tropical Depression 01W. While JTWC has given their final warning yesterday, JMA continues to give out 3-hour warnings as the system continues to spin over the South China Sea. Right now, it is very weak with no significant convection and the center being fully exposed. With that said, total dissipation is forecast within the next 2 days as the wind shear in the region becomes increasingly favorable.

As for the Philippines, there will still be some scattered rains, especially across Eastern Luzon and Palawan. Converging winds will continue bringing light showers for the next 2 days. Then, clear weather is expected for most of the country by Wednesday. Before that though, some rain showers could affect Eastern Visayas and Mindanao by Tuesday as the ITCZ moves westward. Not expecting large amounts of rainfall, fortunately.

Next update will be this Wednesday, February 22.
