Heavy rainfall and Flood in Malaysia 07 March 2012

Heavy rainfall since late afternoon until mid night in most of the area in the peninsula Malaysia especially the West Coast of Peninsula Malaysia has resulted some severe flash flood. The capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur was the most severely hit with water ranging from knee deep until waist deep in some low lying area. Other affected states includes the two states in the northern region, Kedah and Perlis. Rainfall ranging from 80mm to over 180mm was recorded in the period of four to six hour of heavy rain. On the other hand, heavy rain also happen across Perak, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. Below is a link to some flood photo taken by civilians in the area of Kuala Lumpur last night.

According to the latest run cycle of the GFS model. The current rough weather is expected to remain active until Friday.
