Today we mark the one year anniversary of the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, the image below at a glance explains the spread of the massive devastation left in the wake of this event. For a very in-depth look back please go to our partners at Earthquake-report.com.

Also we take a look at the weather today and an area of low pressure currently lingering south of the Philippines.

Philippines 3-Day Forecast | March 11, 2012

Mainly quiet across the country over the next 3 days. Highest chances of seeing rain would be across Northern and Eastern Luzon as a weak front moves on by Tuesday. Not much rain is expected, however. Southern parts of Mindanao also likely to see rain over the next few days as stray showers from the ITCZ may affect areas here from time to time. No large-rain maker in the forecast, though.
