Here is our latest Video Update on Tropical Storm Khanun as it nears Jeju Island in South Korea. Cheju airport is now reporting sustained winds of 40 to 50kph with higher gusts. Furthermore, the island continues to get moderate to heavy rains as the inner bands from Khanun begins to impact the area. Farther to the north, South Jeolla Province (mainland SK) is also beginning to get some light rain showers as the outer bands reach the southwestern part of the Peninsula.
TS Khanun is forecast to skirt the western coast of South Korea tomorrow morning bringing scattered rains and gusty winds along the coastal areas. Seoul could also see some rain showers and breezy winds as the storm passes to the west. Khanun is forecast to make landfall near Haeju or Kaesong in North Korea tomorrow afternoon. It should then rapidly weaken as it moves inland, passing near Pyongyang tomorrow evening as a Tropical Depression. Khanun could then dissipate completely as early as Friday morning.
In the video, we are also looking at Invest 92W which could become a cyclone in the next 2-3 days. Thanks for watching, stay safe!
