Here is our latest update on Tropical Storm Maliksi and the newly-formed Tropical Storm Gaemi.
Malikis continues to move across the Pacific and could move near Iwo To and the rest of the Ogasawara Islands by tomorrow. Due to the large size, Maliksi is forecast to slowly intensify over the next few days as it moves northward. By Thursday, the system will turn to the northeast avoiding Tokyo and the Honshu Island.
Gaemi, on the other hand, is slowly consolidating over the South China Sea/West Philippine Sea and could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility later this evening. Gaemi is enhancing some rain showers across Luzon and Visayas today and could continue to do so in the next two days. By Thursday, Gaemi is forecast to make a u-turn to the west avoiding the Philippines. It will continue intensifying as it moves across the South China Sea and could threaten Vietnam by this weekend.
