Tropical Storm Maliksi and Gaemi (Marce) Early Evening Update October 3, 2012

Here is our latest Video Update on Tropical Storm Maliksi and Tropical Storm Gaemi (Bagyong Marce).

Tropical Storm Maliksi is currently moving across the Ogasawara Islands bringing rains and strong winds in the region. Some light rain showers are also making their way towards Southeastern Honshu but are not expected to be significant. Maliksi will continue moving northward and then turn to the northeast moving away from Japan.

Latest radar out of southeastern Honshu showing light rainshowers moving across Chiba and Ibaraki Prefectures. These will mainly be light rains and are not expected to be significant. However, precipitation may linger throughout the night and may even impact parts of Tokyo. Weather across Honshu and Ogasawara should improve tomorrow as Maliksi moves quickly to the northeast. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Gaemi (Bagyong Marce) continues to meander across the South China Sea/West Philippine Sea bringing scattered rains across Luzon and Visayas. Public Storm Warning Signal #1 have been raised by PAGASA for the provinces of Bataan and Zambales due to the proximity of the storm. TS Gaemi is forecast to make a u-turn and eventually move to the west by tomorrow avoiding the Philippines. It could intensify into a Typhoon by Friday and could then make landfall in Vietnam by Saturday.
