The system caused massive damage across Mindanao, killing over 200 people and also destroying homes and infrastructure. Storm surges, flooding, and mudslides all brought damages especially in Eastern Mindanao and also in the province of Compostela Valley. Unfortunately, the number of fatalities are feared to rise even further as rescuers and the media are only getting to the towns today.

There are still some provinces under Public Storm Warning Signals from PAGASA as of 5pm. Northern Palawan and Calamian Islands are under Signal #3. The Rest of Palawan is under Signal #2 while Occidental Mindoro is under Signal #1. These areas will continue to experience stormy conditions as well as an additional of up to 50mm of rain. Expect improvement in the weather by tomorrow.

As for Typhoon Bopha, it will continue moving northwestward away from the Philippines.Hopefully, it won’t be a threat to the country anymore.
