In some coastal regions, it is inferred that tsunamis higher than those recorded at observation sites have arrived.

(6:10pm Japan Time) No reported damage in the Tokai Daini and Fukushima Daichi Nuclear Plants.
(6pm Japan Time) An aftershock with a magnitude of 6.2 has struck in the same area about 20 minutes ago.
Up to 2m waves now being mentioned in the warnings for Miyagi Coast. Meanwhile, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says that there is no threat to other countries from this Japan Earthquake.
(5:30pm JST) A 7.3 Magnitude earthquake has hit off the coast of Northeastern Japan. The earthquake, which happened about 20 mins ago (as of writing time), was located around 280km off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture with a depth of 36km (22mi). As of posting time, a Tsunami Warning has been issued for MIYAGI PREFECTURE. A Tsunami Advisory has been issued, on the other hand, for the prefectures of IWATE PREFECTURE, FUKUSHIMA PREFECTURE, IBARAKI PREFECTURE, as well as the PACIFIC COAST OF AOMORI PREFECTURE. Wave height of as high as 1m is could arrive within the next half an hour.
