Tropical Depression Crising Early Evening Update | February 20, 2013

Here is our latest Video Update on Tropical Depression 02W (Bagyong Crising).

The system is currently moving across Sulu Sea and will pass near Southern Palawan later tonight or early tomorrow morning. Crising brought nearly 200mm of rains in some areas causing flooding and landslides and has even claimed the life of one person. Furthermore, dozens of flights have been canceled and thousands of people are still stranded at seaports due to the bad weather.

Latest data from the doppler radars indicate light to moderate rains continue acrosst parts of the Philippines. However, the intensity, coverage, and duration of these rains have lessened as of late. For the latest doppler radar images and rainfall forecasts, please click HERE (ClimateX PH).

TD Crising is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow evening (Thursday). Scattered rains will, then, gradually taper off later this week.
