Habagat 2012 vs. 2013

A question I get asked a lot this past one and a half weeks is what’s worse, habagat (SW monsoon) 2012 or habagat 2013?  It seems that the amount of rainfall in Metro Manila and nearby areas (i.e. Cavite) for 2012 and 2013 was comparably very similar,  the main difference being in the distribution.  Habagat 2013 brought more rain to the southern portion of Metro Manila.

Figure below shows August 20, 2013 (Tuesday) having the most rainfall.

Note: AWS observations shown here are not official PAGASA figures, also thanks to the NOAH-WISE IBM team for the graphs.
