Japan Meteorological Agency has now upgraded Matmo into a Typhoon with winds of 120 to 175kph. The system continues to consolidate as it tracks across the Philippine Sea. Light to moderate rains are beginning to impact Luzon and Visayas as the system moves near the region. It is also starting to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) which will continue to bring moisture across the Philippines in the coming days.
