The north region will see a mixed plate of weather conditions over the weekend, while the central region holds onto very warm temperatures. Summer continues in the south as the heat continues, and the tropics quiet down and stay well-behaved.
NORTH
Temperatures in the north region will be give-and-take this weekend, as cooler air behind a cold front draped over northern China moves into eastern and central portions of the country. Return flow of the high pressure area to the north brings some warmer air to Mongolia and eastern Russia, helping those areas rebound a bit. Central China will see the biggest temperature swing this weekend as the atmosphere heats up nicely this afternoon, and then cools significantly with the passage of the cold front tonight. A storm system will develop along the frontal system in eastern China over the weekend, bringing clouds and rain to locales in the area, and considerable cloudiness to Korea and Japan.

CENTRAL
Temperatures will remain warm over the central region this weekend, with generally good conditions expected region-wide. A storm system developing along a cold front to the north will help drag some clouds into portions of southern China and northern Indochina, but no precipitation is expected. The rest of the region will see a nice weekend for outdoor activities, with a few scattered clouds mixed in with plentiful sunshine.

SOUTH
Summer is on in full effect across the south region, as daytime highs approach dangerous levels across the region, especially over interior locales of the Southeast Asian peninsula. Rainfall will be restricted to the southernmost portion of the region, as isolated ripples of tropical energy slide through these areas. The remainder of the region will see lots of hot sunshine and a few scattered clouds.

TROPICS
The tropics are looking all quiet this weekend, as moisture and convergence die down a bit in the region. Most locations across the region will see a rain-free weekend, with eastern Micronesia and the Marshall Islands being the exceptions as they expect a good dose of clouds and afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Long-range models continue to show a weak ripple of low pressure developing next week, and sliding west-northwestward towards the Philippines as it ingests some dry air and weakens. Hopefully this feature will bring some rain to the very dry islands of eastern Micronesia and the Philippines by next weekend. We will monitor the situation closely and keep you up to date.
