Unseasonable warmth continues over most of eastern Asia as very warm temperatures stay pout over the north and central regions. The south is hot too, with dangerous heat in place this weekend. The tropics have quieted down considerably, but moisture and heat continue to build in the region as well.
NORTH
Temperatures in the north region are running an average of 4C (7F) above normal, bringing a feel of summer to some locations. A cold front is trekking southeastward over Mongolia, northern China, and eastern Russia, which may help lower the temperatures a bit in the coming days for only the most northerly of locations. The weather is fine, for the most apart, aside from the warmer-than-average temperatures, with lots of sunshine and just a few scattered clouds.

CENTRAL
The same story is true in the central region as temperatures are running an average of 3-4C (5-7F) above normal. Moisture associated with ripples of energy coming out of the west, and combining with a stalled weak frontal boundary will help keep the heat down a bit over a large portion of the region this weekend. Today will be a pretty nice day over most of the region; however, a developing low pressure area along the frontal boundary will help fire off clouds, showers, and even a few thunderstorms over southeastern China and Taiwan tomorrow.

SOUTH
Temperatures are dangerously high over portions of Cambodia, Laos, interior Thailand, and interior Vietnam as the sun bakes the region under mostly clear skies. Humidity levels are rising as well with a steady feed of moisture coming in from the east. Heat indices could peak near 47C (117F) for some areas, therefore, outdoor activity should be restricted to the early morning and late evening hours to avoid unnecessary exposure to dangerous heat conditions. Moisture is moving into the southern half of the Philippines, however, most of the convergence has dissipated, so showers and thunderstorms will be restricted to areas that can get some lift from the daytime heating and mountainous terrain. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy in northern locales, while tropical moisture will serve up a good dose of shower and thunderstorm activity over the southern locales this weekend.

TROPICS
The tropics are still showing signs of building moisture and heat, and high temperatures in all reporting stations continue to edge upwards. Moisture is plentiful throughout the region; south of 10N latitude, but for now, most of the convergence had faded. One hopeful wave of energy that was moving towards the southern Philippines has all but dissipated; however, a plume of plentiful moisture associated with the feature continues to slide across, offering up a chance for showers and thunderstorms from the Philippines east into western Micronesia. To the east, things will be quiet as convergent energy takes a break, allowing for lots of hot sunshine and just a few scattered clouds.
