Unsettled weather begins to show up in the north region, as showers and thunderstorms affect much of the central region. More dangerous heat is on tap for the south region, while the tropics flat line.
NORTH
A frontal system extending to the southwest from eastern Russia and through northern China will be the focus of clouds and a few showers today. Temperatures behind the front are negligibly cooler, and the air mass is still a bit moist as new moisture comes into the picture from the west. Remnant moisture associated with the last storm system will couple with this incoming moisture as another weak pulse of low pressure spins up over north-central China during the next 24 hours. Clouds and showers will be prevalent across the eastern seaboard of mainland Asia today, as Japan sees the most sunshine of all locations in the region.

CENTRAL
Unsettled weather remains fixed across the central region as moisture along a stationary frontal boundary in southeastern China. The frontal system will be a focal point for showers and a few thunderstorms during the peak of afternoon heating today. Many locations will see good weather today, especially to the west and south, with just a few scattered clouds.

SOUTH
Intense and dangerous heat is once again in place across a good portion of the south region today. Once again, words escape me when trying to point out the risks of heat exposure in portions of Cambodia, Laos, and interior locations of Thailand and Vietnam. Longer days, intense sunshine, and ample humidity, will combine to drive up heat indices, which could approach 48C (118F) in some areas. Residents of these areas should avoid prolonged afternoon exposure to the conditions, and restrict any vigorous activity to the early morning and late evening hours. The northern Philippines will also see intense heat and humidity today, with heat indices of 41C (106F) possible, especially over inland provinces of Luzon. Extreme caution should be observed if plans take you outside this afternoon. To the south, plentiful tropical moisture will offer up a chance of thunderstorms to the southern Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

TROPICS
The tropics remain quiet today, and as a matter of fact, convergent activity as observed VIA satellite has significantly diminished over the past 3 days. The heat and moisture continues to build up in the region, making for some very warm afternoons. However, without any concentrated areas of convection, activity is scarce. A good chance for showers and thunderstorms is in place for the islands of western Micronesia, while most other locations will see plenty of warm sunshine.
