Colder air settles in over parts of the north region, as the central region sees their second consecutive day of nice weather, uncommon during the monsoon season. The south stays hot but moisture is increasing over the region, and that moisture is coming from the tropics, which aren’t looking too impressive, but still showing slow signs of things to come.
NORTH
As one warm storm system moves out of the north region to the northeast, another, colder, storm system moves in from the northwest. Portions of Mongolia and northern china saw snowfall yesterday, as the late-season shot of frigid air made its way through. Temperatures are much lower across the northern two-thirds of the north region, partly due to significant cloud-cover associated with the strong cold front sweeping through the region, and partly because the air behind the front is so much cooler. Northeastern China, eastern Russia, and Korea can expect a good chance of showers, and sharply dropping temperatures, as the front rolls through your areas. The remainder of the region will see seasonable temperatures with partly cloudy skies.

CENTRAL
For the second consecutive day, the central region will be mostly dominated by favorable weather conditions, as we get a bit of a break in the seasonal East Asian monsoon. A few clouds will linger over the Ryukyu Islands as a cold front slides slowly eastward. A few thunderstorms could pop up along the tail end of that front over Taiwan. Everyone else will see a good dose of sunshine today with seasonably warm temperatures.

SOUTH
The hottest air continues to be projected over the south region, as the tropical moisture continues to build over the region. This moisture is bringing much-needed drought relief to many portions of the region, which have been affected by the disturbed weather patterns brought about by the waning El Nino. Most locations across the region will see a chance for showers and thunderstorms today. Heat indices will still be quite high over interior portions of Southeast Asia and the northern Philippines.

TROPICS
Ripples of energy embedded in the general westward flow of the I.T.C.Z. (Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone) continue to slowly propagate through the region. Activity has waned a bit today, but two main sources of energy are out there, one located to the southwest of the Philippines, and the second located in eastern Micronesia. General cloudiness, ample moisture, and intense afternoon sunshine dominate over the region, so everyone stands a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorms today.
