Daily weather brief – Monday, July 25, 2016

NWPAC outlook, 25 JUL

NWPAC outlook, 25 JUL

Much of the north region will see lots of sunshine and warm afternoon temperatures this afternoon to start the new work week, as many areas clean up from the recent flooding issues. Clouds will be hanging around the easternmost portions of the region, and a few showers and thunderstorms could pop up near Beijing.

The central region will see a mostly fair day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible in offshore locations. Most attention will be turned to the south as a new tropical disturbance threatens to form and move into the region later this week.

The south region will see another typical summer day with plenty of scattered showers and thunderstorms as the afternoon heating peaks. A new tropical disturbance is forming in the northern South China Sea, and could bring some rain to portions of northern Indochina by week’s end.

A new disturbance has moved into the South China Sea and the N.R.L. (Naval Research Laboratory) has designated it 95W INVEST. This system is expected to develop slowly, reaching possible tropical storm strength before making landfall in southern China later in the week.
