NORTH
Temperatures across much of the north region are warming up a bit ahead of the next, strong Siberian surge that is poised to move through the region in the coming days. The leading edge of the new air mass has already encroached upon the most northerly locations in the region, bringing snow to Mongolia and northern China, with a significant plunge in the mercury soon to follow. The air mass will slowly encompass the entire region by the middle of next week, bringing a real feel of winter to the north. A weak trough will bring some clouds and showers to eastern locales in the region, while foggy conditions are in place in central China just ahead of the frontal system.

CENTRAL
Temperatures are slowly rising across the central region, as the air mass moderates and warm air gets pulled to the north by the new incoming surge due in next week. Conditions will be mostly fair across the region, but low clouds and fog may keep things dreary across southern china and northern Indochina, and a few afternoon thunderstorms could pop up along the coast of southeastern China.

SOUTH
Moisture is beginning to move back into much of the south region, as the warmer air advances northward ahead of a new surge that will affect mostly areas to the north in the coming week. The tropics are serving up remnants of past systems across the Philippines, as the remnants of 28W and 97W move over the country today. With moisture in place, plenty of warmth, and lots of sunshine, most locations can expect a good chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

TROPICS
The tropics remain silent as waves of moisture and weak energy abound across the region.
Remnants of 28W and 97W INVEST will move across the Philippines over the next 24-48 hours, bringing healthy amounts of rainfall to some areas of the archipelago. Scattered pockets of moisture and energy will also help generate showers and thunderstorms across much of the region this afternoon.
