NWPAC outlook, 05 DEC

NWPAC outlook, 05 DEC

NORTH

A fresh shot of cold air is sweeping through the north region, dropping temperatures over portions of Mongolia and northern China. An older storm system is also moving off of the coast of japan, helping reinforce the cooler conditions across the archipelago. Clouds, showers, and fog with low clouds will affect many locales in the eastern portion of the region while sunshine remains dominant over the remainder of the region.

CENTRAL

Temperatures are rebounding across the central region ahead of a new surge that will pass through later in the week. Cloudy skies and showers will continue to dampen spirits across offshore locations as an old storm system exits to the northeast. Low clouds and fog will also keep skies grey over portions of northern Indochina and southern China as moisture rides over the thin layer of cooler air at the surface.

TROPICS

The tropics are mostly quiet and we enter the new work week, with little in the way of development expected.

TAAG, 05 DEC

TAAG, 05 DEC

Computer forecast models are showing signs of a weak low pressure area developing south of 10 degrees north latitude in the coming days, but also show the system to get caught up in the southwesterly flow ahead of a new cold surge coming down from Asia. Otherwise, it looks like a quiet time across the tropics as most locations find themselves looking at a chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
