Good evening from the Western Pacific Weather team.
A low pressure system near the central Philippines has been upgraded into a tropical depression by the Japan Meteorological Agency. We’re expecting significant rainfall with this system as it continues to develop. The timing of this development is faster than this morning when the system was expected to develop into a TD by Wednesday.
JMA is likely expecting this system to develop into a tropical storm given the provision of a track. Those in the Philippines will be dealing with significant rainfall and increasing rainfall overnight and through the day Wednesday.
