Good morning from the Western Pacific Weather Team.
As soon as one tropical depression soaked southern Vietnam, a tropical storm has developed near the Philippines. Damrey is moving northwest and is heading right into the same vicinity as the previous storm, bringing the potential for serious rainfall once again. We’re expecting the storm to arrive around Saturday morning, though the system should start impacting the area later on Friday. Residents should be prepared for strong winds from an expected Severe Tropical Storm along with landslide concerns due to land already saturated with water. Rainfall totals can exceed 200 mm over the time period the system impacts the region.
