A low to move over central Philippines over the next 24 hours

Good evening from the Western Pacific Weather team.

A low pressure system has developed east of the southern Philippines, and it is moving its way toward the country. The low should be moving over Visayas and Mindanao over the next 24-36 hours. JMA is expecting the system to develop into a tropical depression after it crosses over the islands, though there is a chance that the system may intensify before it completes the crossover. JTWC does not seem to expect the system to be of concern over the next 24 hours in terms of further development. Residents in the region should be on the lookout for increasing winds along with heavy rainfall progressing through the overnight hours and through the day Thursday.

The tropical depression near Thailand has been downgraded into a low pressure system. For the moment, it should not affect any nearby land except for rainfall.
