Western Pacific Tropical Update

No real “tropical” threat in the forecast for the western pacific but there is still plenty to talk about. Mostly associated with a cold surge which will kick up winds from Okinawa to Vietnam this upcoming weekend through early next week. Wind gust in Northern Luzon could get upwards of 70-80kph. I break it down in this update! Enjoy!!

LPA CONTINUES TO BRING RAINFALL OVER THE PHILIPPINES

Scattered showers continue across Southern Luzon and Visayas today influenced by the low pressure area now tracking over the Sulu Sea. Overall this low pressure and the trailing trough behind it will continue to bring moderate to heavy showers with the risk of local flooding.

Cyclone Niran Intensifies over the Coral Sea and Western Pacific Tropical Outlook

Cyclone warnings remain in place in Queensland today as Niran strenghtens over the coral sea. Good news despite the storm intensifying it is also pulling away from the coast. Bad news it is heading towards New Caledonia where it is expected to bring cyclone conditions by the weekend.
