Analysis for 09Z 30 Apr 2012

Fig. 1.0 “Today’s Western Pacific Sat Analysis indicate a mix of rain and thunderstorm activity along the Ryukus Islands, Southern Japan as a Low accelerates across Japan, bringing thundery rains and gusty conditions, and blowing Yellow sand across Northeastern regions of Japan especially in Hokkaido. The said Aeolian Dust cloud covers Northeastern China too from the Gobi Desert so visibility should be low across most of the region.

Meantime, Tropical Disturbance 97W continues to break up along the Southern regions of Mindanao in the Philippines and mostly cloudy skies along the Visayas as thunderstorms induced by the system could bring rain showers in spots.

Tropical showers continue across the Equatorial region. Thailand and Viet Nam, and Southern China had thunderstorms. A developing Front should also be an area of concern along Southern China, bringing severe weather. Image Courtesy: MTSAT-EUMETSAT.”
